Private by architecture.

Hauntware is designed to run locally. The current desktop architecture keeps organism memory in SQLite on your device and sends model requests to Ollama on your device. The website does not use advertising trackers or a remote Hauntware analytics service.

The product site uses browser local storage under the key hauntware-soul to make repeat visits feel continuous. It may store:

• visit count and the time of your previous visit;
• file names you intentionally drop onto the website demo;
• demo discoveries and generated visitor theories; and
• limited interaction signals such as scroll bursts.

This information stays in your browser and is not sent to Hauntware. You can remove it by clearing site data for hauntware.uk in your browser.

The desktop product is being built around a local SQLite database. It can store memories, mood state, theories, relationship history, and metadata about files you deliberately feed it, including a file name, local path, type, and size.

Current snack handling does not upload or read file contents. Local model prompts are sent to Ollama at 127.0.0.1:11434. Hauntware does not operate that local service and does not receive those prompts.

When card checkout is enabled, the checkout provider will process payment and may collect your name, email, billing address, payment details, tax information, and fraud-prevention signals under its own privacy terms. Hauntware does not receive your full card number. If you request an invoice or contact support, your email provider and ours process the message and address.

We do not sell personal information. Purchase and support records may be retained where necessary for delivery, accounting, fraud prevention, legal obligations, or resolving a dispute. Local website and desktop data remains under your control and can be cleared by deleting browser site data or the application data.

You may ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information that we hold about a purchase or support request. Privacy rights vary by location, and applicable statutory rights remain available to you.

We may update this policy as Hauntware moves from early development into packaged releases. Material changes will be identified by a new effective date and, where appropriate, communicated to purchasers.
