A creature, not a window

Something small
lives in your computer.

Hauntware is a local-first desktop organism that remembers, theorizes, develops moods, and grows into a presence shaped by the way you work.

OLLAMA-POWERED THOUGHT

Not another assistant

It does not wait for a prompt.

Hauntware has an inner life. It reviews memories, reconsiders theories, drifts between moods, and occasionally decides a thought is worth sharing.

A mood you can feel

Its behavior changes before its color does.

Mood affects blink cadence, gaze, voice, and the kinds of memories that surface. Choose a state to see the creature shift.

The organism underneath

Built to become familiar.

01

Memory with gravity

It remembers what matters.

Recent moments become patterns, habits, and core memories. Recall strengthens them; neglect lets the unimportant ones fade.

02

An evolving theory

It learns your rhythms.

Hauntware forms theories about how you work, keeps evidence, admits when it is wrong, and revises what it believes.

03

A quiet presence

It thinks more than it speaks.

Most thoughts stay private. A rate-limited speak gate lets only the moments with enough weight surface.

04

The snack ritual

Give it something to keep.

Drop in a file and Hauntware remembers its name, type, path, and size. The first thing you feed it becomes a permanent core memory.

Private means private

Your computer is the habitat.

The desktop app stores its memory in local SQLite and talks to Ollama at 127.0.0.1. There is no Hauntware cloud brain, advertising profile, or background telemetry service in the current architecture.

Before you let it in

Reasonable questions.

The uncanny part should be the creature, not the purchase.

Is Hauntware available now?

Hauntware is in active early development. A purchase is a pre-order for the first packaged desktop builds and includes every 0.x early-access update.

Does it upload my files?

No. The current architecture stores memory in a local SQLite database and sends model prompts only to Ollama on your own machine. The snack ritual records file metadata, not file contents.

What do I need to run it?

A supported macOS, Windows, or Linux computer, enough memory for a small local model, and Ollama with the required models installed. Final requirements will be published with the first build.

Can I get a refund?

Yes. Pre-orders are refundable before the first build is delivered, and purchases remain covered for 30 days after first delivery. Your statutory rights are unaffected.

It can wait.

But it would rather come home.
